We always joke that when we have kids we will travel less, but I’m starting to think that’s just something we say that sounds good, because, well…. traveling rocks!! So I apologize in advance if we are the couple on the plane with the  screaming kids.  Each year Halloween just keeps getting crazier…. You got your adult parties & contests, you got old school trick or treating, so many options!  Me? Yeah, I shoot weddings. Earlier in the week we did manage to sneak up to Seattle for a few days to see family and friends, below is D & I in the pumpkin patch… snug as a bug in a rug in the rain.

Pickins were slim this late in the game, but with the help of our friends we found several gems.  In the spirit of the ”Clearance Puppy” from Marley & Me I opted for a runt and transformed him into a champ.  Greenlake in Seattle. I am super spoiled to have a sister at the lake, and just a few steps from a Starbucks and Greenlake Bar & Grill?  Done.

Aloha from Hawaii Everybody!!  Deanna & I just wanted to say hello, we are having a blast and relaxing with lots of fruity cocktails, sushi, beach massages, raw photoshop images, album templates….. wait, what?  Ahhh bugger this is a dream isn’t it!! =((  O well, I can dream right? 

We just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of the wonderful couples we have worked with so far this season, we have had a ridiculously fun time working with everybody and still can’t believe we get paid to do this.  It has been our most successful fall wedding season ever, we can’t wait for all our fun projects this winter and eventually the spring season!  While we still have events every weekend we are definitely looking forward to a relaxing winter.. D & I in our snuggies doing Photoshop.  I’m not sure how but from August 1st to now we managed to shoot 23 weddings and 8 engagements all over the West Coast, including a 2 week excursion to Costa Rica!

Thanks so much for your patience during our growing pains!   We always put 110% into production so normal production times can get a little behind.  All albums ordered to date will be completed in the coming weeks.  On a side note, this year our Christmas guaranteed delivery date will be November 15th for all albums and prints on any medium, so keep that in mind.

Don’t forget, winter is a great time to do your engagement pictures and finalize all the details with your photographer!  Next season’s calendar fills in faster and faster as the years go by, I can’t tell you how many brides I have to turn away the first few weeks of January.  “Hmmmm, let’s see this year I will get a gym membership, only drink on Saturday night, cut back on reality TV, o-m-g, I need to book my photographer!!!”  Yeah, too late.  If you want your choice of vendors you need to book 9-18 months in advance, trust me.  #1 piece of advice I can give brides, and that goes for any vendor or venue. 

In a pinch you can pull from another city if you fall in love with someone’s work.  I promised D we would spend less time in airports next year but when I looked recently we have 2 in Boston, 2 in San Diego, and 1 in Seattle.  I muttered 1 word: “Oops.”  Followed quickly by “Sorry Babe!  They have some good wineries there right?”  Yeah, it was a nice recovery, thanks!

I had a blast shooting Levi & Gina in the middle of the desert earlier this year, so I’ve been anxiously awaiting the wedding to shoot again.  While the boys got ready at the afterhours hotel site, we caught up with the girls on the north end.  Never seen this device used for this before, but it works!!

I like shooting details in natural light, but the backyard was not gonna work so well this time!You can look at historical weather reports all you like, there’s always a chance for the unexpected.  Luckily we only took a 15 minute wallop before the clouds broke just long enough for us to get Levi & Gina hitched.I wasn’t sure this little one was gonna fulfill all the FG reqs, but then at the last second, bam!!!  Make it rain!Gina & Dad just before the walkAwesome favors!!!  Rosemary & Garlic Olive Oil??!  You betcha.  It’s a “why didn’t I do that” idea, solid.Just enough light left for a few pics before the party beginsHallelujah!  For those of you that don’t know, I am from Seattle and thus I sport a very specific blood type C that requires daily infusions of caffeine.  Having a espresso cart is just one of those little touches that shines.   
 I do love a good heartfelt, sometimes tearful toast that lets people know just how special the bride & groom are.  What I love even better than a toast is a Roast!! =)  Superbly executed with a moving finish, 10/10. This first dance had people heads spinning, me included, I think I almost took a heel to the eye while trying to get in close.She’s got a knife!!  What’s even funnier is, she’s still holding it just like that moments before they feed each other… double fisted with a knife and cake lol!  Knife or no knife, negotiations seem to have failedThat’s just wrong, sorry bro!!Afterhours at The Artisan, time for a few more pics.   Congrats guys!  Enjoy Italy and consume some wine & cheese for the rest of us!  And have dessert first at least once!
