Unconditional Surrender

The Unconditional Surrender statue in San Diego is the depiction of a famous photograph taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt in Times Square on V-J day – August 14, 1945. A sailor was running down the street grabbing and kissing any and every girl in sight… young & old. Alfred instinctively waited for him to approach this nurse and snapped 4 shots, one of which would appear later that week in Life magazine and become a cultural icon. The statue is extremely popular for military couples, we took at jab at it recently and am very happy with it! San Diego’s statue is appropriately located directly adjacent to the Midway Aircraft Museum on San Diego’s waterfront. After the statue we hit Sunset Cliffs as the light faded. It’s off to Miami in December for the wedding! unconditional surrender   sunset cliffs engagement picture   sunset cliffs engagement photo   sunset cliffs engagement
